On the way - it's very exciting!
I arrived in Ottawa in the early hours of Sunday morning after a smooth and comfy flight across the Pacific to Vancouver, and then across the Rockies & Plains. My choice of a seat on the left side was not just for the views of the Rocky Mountains, I had hopes of seeing Northern Lights - the mountains were glorious, although a little hazy, but there was no Aurora to be seen.
Today has been a lazy day of catching up with some work that needed to be finalised and exploring the shopping centre adjacent to the hotel. Continuous rain through most of the day meant that I didn't feel that I should be outside!
The clouds are now moving away & tomorrow will be fine & dry. My plan is to explore the Canadian Museum of Nature, then finalise packing (will confirm that my checked bag will be less than 20kg and carry-on no more than 5kg), be at our 6pm briefing & then check emails before we're out of range. We have a very early start on Tuesday morning - bags out by 3:30am - be in the lobby by 4:15am for a 4:30am departure for the airport.
Then it's onwards to Kangerlussuaq where we'll board the Kapitan Khlebnikov! Next post will be from the Arctic!
